Dear member at large of the P1076.1 Working Group,
As communicated in a recent email message to this reflector, the IEEE P1076.1 Working Group has revisited the projects and tasks to undertake for the current revision of the VHDL-AMS language, and it has developed a plan to move forward. We are now looking for your support of this plan through a vote. As a reminder, the plan is as follows:
To pursue the following projects and tasks for the current language revision:
- Update the 1076.1 language definition to make it a superset of IEEE Std 1076-2008.
- Extend VHPI to provide minimal support for VHDL-AMS concepts.
- Integrate IEEE Std 1076.1.1-2011 into P1076.1-201x.
- Add support for table driven modeling.
- Add support for vector/matrix operations.
- Add support for frequency-domain modeling.
- Update the LRM to include the new functionality defined by these projects.
To drop the following three projects from this revision:
- Mixed netlists.
- Support for partial differential equations.
- Support for a limited dimensional analysis capability in VHDL-AMS.
To participate in the voting, please respond to the Working Group Chair at christen.1858@comcast.net. In your response please indicate whether you approve the plan, disapprove, or abstain. The vote will close at 12:01 am PDT on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. According to the Working Group Policies, your participation in the vote counts toward Member and Voting Member status in the WG. Only the votes from Voting Members can determine the outcome of the vote.
