All,
I would like to thank you for your confidence by confirming the P1076.1 Working Group officers for another term and electing Zhichao Deng as new Vice-Chair. I congratulate Zhichao Deng, Alain Vachoux and David Smith for their election or re-election, and I would like to thank John Willis for his services as Vice-Chair for the past 4 years. Finally, my thanks go to Joachim Haase for acting as Returning Officer for this election and his superb record keeping. As Joachim mentioned, the chair and vice-chair positions must be confirmed by the DASC, which will meet later this month.
I have summarized the 2011 work of the Working Group in an email I sent to the reflector on December 14, 2011. Now, I want to look forward. The next Working Group meeting will be held on March 13. Although this will be a web meeting we have also reserved a room at DATE 2012 in Dresden to allow conference attendees to participate. We are planning to give an update on the scope of the current revision and the status of the different technical projects. Technical work will be ongoing this year, and the status reports in March will provide an excellent opportunity to update the schedule for the revision. Fund raising continues, as it turns out to be difficult to find money in these times.
I encourage you to become involved in the work of the Working Group and to contribute to the effort. Please contact me if you have any questions about the IEEE P1076.1 Working Group or its activities. You may also find information by visiting the Working Group web site at
