How do we compose an external pathname?  &nbsp; Currently it is language syntax.  The language does not provide any means to manipulate it.  It would be natural to convert from a string to a path and vice versa.  Do we need it now or can we defer?

Does VHPI provide access to the path of a name? Is there a way to use that?
